V-League 2026/27: Five teams facing relegation threat

When the V-League 2026/27 schedule was announced, the opening match between SLNA and Bac Ninh at Vinh Stadium immediately became the focus of analysts. Not because it's a top-tier clash, but because both teams are on the relegation candidate list. An early match between two of the weakest teams – that's the first signal of how fierce the survival battle will be this season. With the new format, the bottom two teams will be directly relegated, no play-off, every match becomes a final. The problem is not how many players are lost or bought, but how the team builds a system around the people they have. The system operates when the opponent is in chaos – that's what really needs training. Small teams are often obsessed with keeping stars, when they should focus on building a collective that can operate on its own. This is especially true for Dong Nai, when they put too much faith in one individual instead of building a team play. The survival battle this season will not be decided by names or history, but by adaptability and risk management. Can SLNA find stability from the young generation? Can Bac Ninh turn investment into results? And can Cong Phuong carry an entire team? These questions will be answered after just a few opening rounds. But one thing is certain: with two direct relegation spots, no team is allowed to make mistakes. Data will be the most reliable companion, but only if we know how to listen to it.
