Scott McTominay, born on December 8, 1996, in Lancaster, Lancashire, England, is a Scottish professional footballer who plays as a midfielder. A product of Manchester United’s youth academy, he made his first-team debut in 2017. He has since featured in over 250 matches for Manchester United, winning the FA Cup and League Cup. In 2024, he joined Napoli for a fee of £25.7 million. In his debut season, he became a key player, helping the team secure the Serie A title. Individually, he was named Serie A MVP and nominated for the Ballon d’Or; he also won the title of Serie A Player of the Month for April after scoring five goals—becoming the first Scottish player to achieve this honor. He made his debut for the Scotland national team in 2018 and was selected for the squads of both the 2020 and 2024 European Championships. During the 2024 UEFA Euro qualifying campaign, he emerged as the team’s top scorer with seven goals, including a brace against Spain that helped Scotland end a 39-year winless streak against the Spanish team. In 2024, he reached the milestone of 50 appearances for Scotland at the European Championship.
